Teaching and Learning Support Assistant/Sports Coach
Salary Grade: Depending on experience; Grade 21-27 (£18,387- £21,915 actual), fixed term contract
Associate Staff Leadership Allowances of £1,200 per annum for leadership responsibilities for liaison with Marish Wizards Football Club (to be renewed annually)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time only plus 5 Inset days
Responsible to: Deputy Head teacher of Inclusion and Lead Learning Mentor/CP Officer; Director of Sports
Purpose of post: You will be working as Learning Mentor during the morning and Sports Coach during the afternoon.
To work with a range of children across Marish Academy Trust, addressing the needs of those who need help to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside the school, in order to achieve their full potential. Priority will be given to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages. The range of issues include: punctuality, absence, bullying, challenging behaviour and abuse.
To assist with the running of After and Before School Club. To maintain a safe and stimulating play environment and to assist with developing opportunities which encourage children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play.
Use expertise and coaching skills to support the learning and development of pupils in PE but also across the curriculum.
To assist the teaching staff in the management of individuals and groups of pupils and work with pupils on junior leadership or buddy training, and undertake some learning and behaviour mentoring work.
Alongside the academy leadership team and the Director of Sport and Community, to develop the Trust’s reputation as a centre of excellence for PE, leadership training and curriculum innovation and to support the showcasing of this work as best practice with the aim of improving other schools locally and also with the intention of securing positive partnerships and sponsorship
